Sapho'li Rasasiri

Corpse Dancer

Quick facts
⚪ Keeper of the Moon
⚪ Born and raised in the South Shroud, near Camp Tranquil
⚪ Relocated to U'ldah after the Calamity
⚪ Dancer and bartender at his husband's bar and club
⚪ Was a sacred prostitute and oracle dedicated to Menphina before the Calamity
⚪Has a single white horn on the right side of his head (yes, it's attached)
⚪Former Dancer and Bard, now a reaper. His Scythe is actually made in part from the twisted/bent blade of one of his broken chakrams.
⚪He made a pact with his voidsent, called Belladonna (a Witchweed type) just before the beginning of ARR. Many of his personality quirks are caused by the close sharing of Bella's instincts and hunger across their connection.
⚪Is perfectly happy to be an aether vampire in order to keep his voidpact partner happy. His unique upbringing as Oracle of his tribe prepared him for this line of thinking.
Personality
⚪ Feral Innocence
⚪ Unpredictable
⚪ High Energy
⚪ Sociable, but socially inept
⚪ Prone to bouts of hysterics and mania: Good, bad, and ugly.
⚪ Can build just about anything out of nothing. He's extremely resourceful and quick-witted when it comes to problem solving; a perk from growing up with very few 'civilized' luxuries.
⚪ Will show you a cool rock he found, probably... even if you don't want him to.

Clan Rasasiri
Cult of Menphina and guardians of the secrets of Amdapor

Origin:
What would eventually become the Rasasiri Clan was made up of a few groups of tribal Miqo'te who sheltered with the survivors of Amdapor. They had, as a race, only recently begun moving over from Meracydia at the time. During the long post-flood sequestering of the Amdapori survivors, the Miqo'te more or less integrated into the society of the sub-terranean dwellers in the Shroud and had become the Keepers of the Moon as we now think of them in Eorzea by the time the Elementals allowed the Twelveswood to be inhabited again.
By chance, and simple failure to accurately disseminate information, many of Amdapor's secrets were lost. Only a few white mages were chosen under the direct guidance of the padjal at a time. However, the Miqo'te tribes had strong oral traditions which added to the preservation of what they knew about Amdapor's secrets. They worshiped in part, the living statues Amdapor left behind in some places, called Sineaters according to their traditions. Children born with highly aspected light aether would be destined to lead the tribe as oracles, gaining the title 'Sineater' themselves. Sapho'li was born destined for this, in the last generation before his tribe met an unfortunate fate.Among other things, they knew the locations of Amdapor and Amdapor Keep long before the Calamity exposed them and broke the wards over their hidden locations. It is through this knowledge that their generational practice of anointing Oracles (children born with a tell-tale mark upon their brow that suggested they would be blessed with greater than normal Light Aether) to maintain the wards and protect the hidden city, specifically. The Rasasiri clan produced many (non-sanctioned by the Padjal and Gridania's government) but powerful and lauded Conjurers and even some White Mages. Sapho'li's mother, Sapho, was one such White Mage who lost her life tragically on the fields of Cartenaeu.Social Order/ Religion:
Like most Keeper tribes, the Rasasiri clan is strictly matriarchal, though males are allowed to hold spiritual positions (perhaps in part because these are really more public servant type roles.) while most other tribes are more strict about this distinction. While they are a tribe steeped in mysticism and the secrets of the past, it's not Amdapor itself that they revere. The Rasasiri clan worships Menphina, believing that her message is one of self-love and love of one's fellow man. This is, aside from the obvious reasons, why they avoid and in some cases overtly dislike Gridania proper. they consider it a place lacking harmony and loving equity, which is what they preach above any dogma.
Clan Rasasiri also resents the Elezen who perpetuate racial stereotypes and disparage their people who live out in the Shroud as poachers and bandits. They also have a good working relationship with the Duskwights who remain in the outskirt ruins of Gelmorra. It could be argued that they share a belief system, carried over from the time after the fall of Amdapor. Their resentment of the Wildwood majority in the Shroud's major cities and settlements likely comes from their view of the Halonic church which is in direct oposition to the kind of beliefs they espouse. That being said, Clan Rasasiri has a rather "Hippie Commune" way of living, and some of their biggest festivals involve ritual sex had in the name of the goddess of love. The children of the clan are given great freedom of expression and choice, and the tenents of consent are taught very explicitly to prepare them for their coming of age. All of these rituals are completely optional, but some are also important community bonding experiences. This kind of casual and platonic view of sex has always been important in shaping the world view of the clan's members.Adherents make regular votive offerings and venerate their ancestors, who they believe go on to Menphina's realm and uphold the wards from the other side. They may also seek out partners for sexual relations depending entirely on the phase of the moon, as this is another way they believe the can honor the goddess by spreading her love. The Oracle:
An oracle may be chosen for any number of reasons, but the one shared trait is that they must be born with a propensity for Light aspected Aether. Among the Rasasiri clan, this is not uncommon at all, likely having something to do with their direct connection to Amdapor. Sapho'li was born with a black mark on his forehead, which was read as a sign by an Oracle before him. There are often multiple Oracles in different phases of their lives. Youths, Adults, and Elders all have their own ceremonial roles. Adults (and Elders if they wish to remain in the role) are allowed to have the honor of dedicating themselves to the goddess fully-- therefore relinquishing any pressure to produce offspring. These Oracles become sacred prostitutes: extensions of the goddess' love, given to all.
The Rasasiri Oracle dedicates their life to service in the name of Menphina, therefore taking on the duty of spreading her doctrine of love wherever possible. They are often assigned or take on protectors called Guardians, who accompany them on the dangerous trek into the Amdapori Ruins to maintain the wards with their own life-aether. Though the detail will slip the history books, it is by the Clan's maintenance that the wards lasted as long as they did, only being broken when the tribe was swallowed by the fires of the Calamity, five years prior to the beginning of A Realm Reborn. The Oracle may also be called to bring healing and succor to the wounded and sick, as well as being a figurehead for their people.

Personal History

⚪ Born in the Black Shroud
⚪ Grew up near the exit to Thanalan, and would often push his boundaries to visit Thal's Respite.
⚪ During the last year or two before the Calamity, the aggressive campaigns the Garleans waged violently changed the social ecosystem in the shroud. Along with several others, his clan was forcibly subjugated by the Couerl Claw king, and he was cast out, forced to live on the edges of their already loose-knit society.
⚪ At the time of the Calamity, his mother joined the forces on the front lines, in part due to her personal loyalty to the Circle of Knowing.
⚪ He suffered a head injury and a badly broken arm during the Calamity itself, and many of his memories were scrambled. Shortly after this, he relocated to U'ldah in order to try to start over.
⚪ Along with his childhood crush, he became a Sultansworn. It had been a dream that they'd talked about sharing for many years.
⚪ Shortly before the events of A Realm Reborn, he and his partner were sent to the Shroud to investigate cult activity in the Tam Tara Deepcroft.
⚪ He attempted to make a pact with a Voidsent to restore his lost memories. Of course, the demon had no intention of keeping his end of the deal, and was only saved by his partner's equal sacrifice. They both lost the sight in their right eye, and Sapho'li's light aspect was turned upside down.
⚪ His former guardian, who he believed to be lost in the Calamity along with his mother, was able to seal the demon he'd forged a pact with into his afflicted eye, thus saving him from turning completely.
---Start of A Realm Reborn---
⚪ He was present for the Bloody Banquet, and as a fledgling Sultansworn, took the failure very personally.
--heavensward--
⚪ This led to him becoming a Dark Knight and in part, embracing the darkness inside of him that he'd sealed away.
⚪ Siding with the dragons he met in Dravania rather than the humans, he and his former Sultansworn partner were forced to face each other as enemies. At the end, neither of them had the heart to kill the other.
⚪ Sapho'li is likely still wanted in Ishgard for the murder of several Temple Knights. He avoids the city when possible, and has since, struck up a rapport with Estinien Wyrmblood that could almost be deemed friendly.
⚪ He returns to Azys Lla regularly to pay his respects to Lady Iceheart.
--Stormblood--
⚪ His long time lover proposed to him on the terrace at Revnant's Toll just before they were called away by the Scions to the East.
⚪ Sapho'li was the one to face off against Zenos, and the start of their fatal attraction was his main story thread throughout the expansion.
⚪ At this time, his fiance's constant rivalry with the Syndicate in U'ldah came to a head. Their home was razed to the ground and Sapho'li was kidnapped and brutalized before they could flee.
⚪ Unfortunately, this was among the last things that happened before the Scions began dropping like flies.
--Shadowbringers--
⚪He was swept up with the second wave of Scions pulled across the border between worlds.
⚪ Having no trust for the Exarch, and still having loss weighing heavily on his heart, he exiled himself to the Rak'tika greatwood.
⚪ Over the course of a few years, he managed to form a nearly sibling like bond with Y'shtola despite having disliked her before.
⚪ In his sequestered state, he mastered the Summoner soul crystal he found in Mor Dhona just before being pulled into Norvrandt.
⚪ After reuniting with his two lost loved ones, he tackled the events of the Eden Raids.
⚪ This was where he began to understand his own truth, and his connection to Gaia.
⚪ While Gaia was a single shard of Loghrif, he was the remnants of Loghrif rejoined six times over. He treats Gaia like his own family, a daughter or a sister.
⚪ He's in no rush to reclaim his shard. He wants her to live a happy and full life with Ryne.
--Endwalker--
⚪His most important Endwalker development is in job changing to Reaper. He now has formed a pact with the voidsent that he was cursed with, thus turning what he saw as his greatest downfall into the strength to protect what he cares about.

Preferences and Hooks

Orientation: Prefers men, almost exclusively. Very rare exceptions might be made. Tbh he's only really attracted to people who could crush him lolRelationship status: Polyamorous. If you want to ship with him, you'd be best to be aware of his two other partners, Sidurgu on the side, and his infatuation with Zenos.Position: A pushy, demanding bottom. Can be a switch depending on whether or not he feels properly challenged or comfortable with someone.Hooks:
⚪ He's a reaper. He makes no attempts to hide this.
⚪ From a tribe in the Shroud? Ala Mhigan refugee in U'ldah? He's probably at least glimpsed you.
⚪ He helps out any Ala Mhigan he comes across actually, as his husband is also from there.
⚪ He spends a ton of time in Mor Dhona spelunking for Allagan scrap. He's a goldsmith by trade though his designs are... questionable. Constantly getting run off by the Sons of Saint Coinach because he keeps stripping valuable historical artifacts (He and G'raha fight like cats and dogs LOL)
⚪ The most likely way you'll come across him though, is to find him dancing at club Remedy at its new (non Syndicate infested) location in the Mist. When he's not dancing, he's bartending with all of that.
⚪ Rarely, he can be found stealing into the Forgotten Knight for a rendezvous with Sidurgu.
